Post 23! Baseball does it again.

Well, here we are on Post #23. I bet you didn't think we'd make it this far, but here we are and we're still going strong. Today I want to talk about an experience I had the other day. It all started at 4:30am this last Thursday.
I had a 6am flight to Philly with a brief layover in Denver. In Denver I got some breakfast, fruit as usual, and was waiting at my gait for my connection to Philly. I was wearing my Diamonbacks shirt as I was planning on attending the game in Philly that night. As I was sitting there enjoying my fruit cup another passenger came up to me adn asked if I was on the flight to Philly. I confirmed this to which he continued by asking if I was going to the game tonight, again I confirmed. We began talking, found out we had alot in common. Long story short we ended up driving to the game together, sitting next to each other, being on the same return flight together and staying in the same hotel during our delayed flight layover in Denver.
It was nice to make a nrew friend and have someone to talk to while traveling away from my family. We'll probably go to som more DBacks games this season here in Phoenix. Who says you can't have a bromance at 30,000 ft in the air?

Who likes a tight shirt?

So, the past couple of days I've been looking for a Diamondbacks T-shirt. I'm going to the game in Philly this Thursday and wanted to represent my home team. In my quest to find a dbacks shirt I've noticed a trend in the way T-shirts are being produced. There seems to be a movement towards fitted shirts. This may be nice if you weight 165lbs and are ripped with muscles, but this is not the case for all sizes. When you get into the XL and XXL sizes you have to assume that some of those folks are wearing those sizes because there muscles are not as well defined as our dainty brothers. So why make the shirts so fitted in the larger sizes. When you have rolls instead of muscles the last thing you want to do is show them off. I may as well go topless and paint big yellow strips on my rolls and wear a sign that says "look this way to be disgusted" with an arrow pointing towards the offending rolls. Anyway, that is my soapbox for today. Can't we just have shirts that fit nicely and not like we've been stuffed into a sausage casing. This goes for small guys too that wear sizes too small for them. It's not flattering, you just look silly and like you raided your little brothers closet.

Have a good day!

Somebody hase a case of the Mondays.

Well, it's Monday and I'm not working till Thursday. So I'm trying to fill my time doing odd jobs around the house. Today I patched a spot on the wall and tomorrow I will paint it. By the way, can I complain a little bit? I bought a small can of Spackle about 3 months ago for another patch I was doing. The instructions said to replace the lid and store in a dry place, which I did. Today when I opened up the can what did I find, a dried up blob of Spackle. Why can't they make those things air tight so if you only need a little bit you don't have to buy a whole can which will just get thrown away in a few months. AHHHHHHH...........

Besides that this Monday is going well.

Latest juice update

I've been inundated with questions regarding the juice fast. So in an effort to answer each question I am posting the answers in this blog post. Here it goes.
Question 1 comes from Jenny in Litchfield Park.

Question: How much weight have you lost so far?
Answer: A little over 20 lbs in 17 days.

OK that's all the questions. If you have any other questions please feel free to check this blog regularly.

As an update, I'm done with just juice and am moving onto phase 2. In phase 2 I juice for breakfast and lunch and have a fruit and veggie packed dinner. Lots of salad and fresh green veggies. Every other day i will incorporate a lean protein into my dinner meal. Either 4 oz of cold water fish, chicken, or legumes. I have also started exercising. I'm following a running plan called couch to 5k in 8 weeks. It comes from the coolrunning.com website . This plan is a 3x per week plan. The other 3 days I walk and do push ups and situps.

I will keep you updated as I progress. I plan on staying in phase 2 for about 2 1/2 more months or until I reach my goal, whichever comes first.

Yogurt Limo

When I was young, seemed that life was so wonderful, Magical..., haha, just kidding. When I was young my cousin Bubba was dating a girl whose name was Gina, at least I think it was Gina. Gina worked in a TCBY, yogurt place. I would go down and spend time in the yogurt shop, I don't remember how I got there or why I was even there, but I remember I ate a lot of yogurt.

Anyway, on one of the nights I was there it was close to the beginning of school starting for the year. I had a zany notion that it would be cool to pull up on the first day of school in a Limousine. I thought that me and whoever climbed out of the limo with me would be kings of the school the entire year. So at Gina's yogurt shop I started calling all my friends and filled them in on my idea. Those of us that would be in the Limo would be called "The Limousines" (clever I know). After I got a group of guys who were willing I grabbed the Yellow Pages and started ringing some Limo companies. The consensus I got from the dozen or so Limo companies I got was that it would be $100 per hr plus tip. Seeing as me and the group of guys I had wrangled up had fewer that $3.42 to our names we decided this was not going to happen. I was sad for about 10 minutes until I had some more Yogurt. I pretty much forgot about it after that, until I pulled up to school on the first day in my mom's Mitsubishi Expo. It's like a Limo, but more like a Mini-Van.
